European Movement in Zrenjanin has celebrated 10 years of existence on 9th of December 2007. For this occasion Celebration event was organized with performance of reworded students of Musical secondary School “Josif Marinkovic”. M.A. Nikola Slajh has first introduced the work of EMinS in Zrenjanin – president of Local council in Zrenjanin, and then Mr. Zivorad Kovacevic – President of European Movement in Serbia.
After the Conference the celebration was continued in festive atmosphere with concert.

This project as a main goal has the promotion of cultural heritage of Banat regiona on both sides of the border. Project lasts for 15 months and the first activity was press conference that was held in Timisoara on 17.10.2007.

The deputy of the mayor of Zrenjanin, Predrag Stankov gave them a sum of 12 ooo din each. Seven of these top 300 students are from Zrenjanin. They deserved to be included in the project " Let's travel to Europe" during which they will travel through several European countries, ditribute special informative pamphlets "Greetings from Serbia" and be a kind of ambassadors of our country. The honour to represent not only our country but our town as well was given to Branislav Vujanov (the student of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade), Jelena Nikolic ( from the Faculty of Mathematics in Novi Sad ), Zoran Stefanov ( from the Faculty of Phisical Education in Belgrade ), Milici Zivkovic (from the Faculty of Mathematics in Novi Sad), Mladen Strbac (from the Faculty of Mathematics in Belgrade ), Natasa Barbulov (the student of
the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad ) and Ivana Pavlovic ( from the Faculty of Mining and Geology in Belgrade ).
By giving them a kind of " pocket money for the journey " which is 150 EUR each, our Municipality joins the group of many sponsors and doners of this project who enabled the best students of Serbia to start their journey. The Embassy of Austria also took a substantial part in this project while the doners were the Municipality of Belgrade, The Balkan Trust Fondation, Robert Bosch Fondation, the Executive Council of AP Vojvodina, and the sponsors were MGI company, the Railways of Serbia, Kontiki Travel Agency, " The Lasta " and Porsche. The insurance company of the journey is INIQUA Insurance.
633 students were enrolled in this years competition, among which 340 did the preliminary interviews with the organizers. After these interviews 300 of them were chosen and they started they journey yesterday. Their first stop will be Wienna, and from there they will continue their personaly chosen trips to different destinations. The privilege to choose their destination frist were given to those with the highest average mark and to those who have never been abroad.

The condition for their participation on this open competition was the average grade which had to be higher than 8,5 and all the students from senior years gained right to participate. Europian movement in Srebia is the organizer of this project, and countenancer is Municipal of Belgrade, the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Serbia and the Railway of Serbia. The students will start their one-month long journey tonight at 21.30. They will stay in Wien for three days and from Wien they will continue traveling through the countries of the Europian Union.
Their leaving banquet was held in the Municipality of Belgrade, and the students were welcomed by the vice president of the Serbian goverment Bozidar Djelic. Djelic said that he expects the Agreement about stabilisation and mingling will be signed in October and that Serbia will become a candidate for the membership in EU untill the end of 2008 and that this will bring our country on a White Schengen list . He, as an "ex-inter railer" , told the students that they always should have in reserve: a small amount of money, a soap bar and some toilet papir. The students were also welcomed by the ambasador of Austria in Serbia Gerhard Jandl, the deputy of the mayor of Belgrade Radmila Hristanovic and the vicepresident of the Europian movement in Serbia Aleksandar Gatalica. The Embassy of Austria in Serbia enabled free Schengen visas for the students , and free inter - rail tickets were sponsored by the Railway of Serbia.
A top 100 students from Serbia went on a trip through EU two years ago and last year 200 of them did the same.

The main goals of the project activities are:
1. Raising awareness about the new EU financial instrument for pre accession assistance among the relevant actors (state, non-state, municipal) and acquiring the best practices in using EU funds
2. Presentation and exchange of regional experiences: candidate countries - Croatia and Macedonia as well as Slovenian experience of the use of EU funds
3. Raising the general knowledge about IPA and the best ways to use the available components
4. Provision of the Manual aimed at the effective articulation of needs and creation of project proposals eligible for funding through IPA funds
5. Enhancing the role of the civil society in monitoring the use of IPA funds

With in the cellebration of Day of Europe a tribine was held in Teather Club "Zeleno Zvono". Speakers were Nenad Canak, Zuzana Srences, Dinko Gruhonjic and Danica Vucinic.

Regarding this, the CEMIR was more than successful in the field of organization of such complicated project. They managed to gather 24 representatives from NGOs from all over Serbia, meaning that the proportion of representatives was on the highest level. The participants had 3 trainings that lasted for 4 days and study visit to European institutions in Brussels.

The essence of this project is that 200 young people from Serbia get to know the culture, customs and citizens of one of the European countries founders of the EU, within next 2 years. In this way these young leaders, future barriers of EU integration processes, will be able to make bridges of cooperation with one of the countries, as well as to bring with them one large experience that will have benefits for themselves as well as for their community.
Project Welcome to Germany is aimed towards two target groups:
- High school children from 15 - 18 years old
- Students who are active in the community aged 18-26

European Movement in Serbia in cooperation with Women Gouvernment has organized preelection campaign called «Let's women decide». This campaign is being conducted in 30 municipalities in Serbia. With this capmaign we wanted to influence o awarenes of women on importance of participation in election process as well as importance of participation of women in political life.
